topics based on our previous experience will be described in details.
Students will develop their learning interest in Math and English and ready themselves for high school challenges.
Students will dive deep in math world by covering the content structures (especially data analysis skill with functions)
and tackling methods (especially logical thinking strategies) with extensive practices for these subjects.
The level of difficulty for the course will be adjusted based on the students’ levels.
2. “SAT Prep for New SAT-Fast Track”
This course includes New SAT Verbal and New SAT Math. New SAT Verbal: Students will become familiar
with the format and content of the NEW SAT exam. The instructor will focus on specific strategies that will ensure success
on the reading section, will teach the requisite grammar rules for the writing section, and will provide techniques for
excellent essays. New SAT Math: Key concepts and problem-solving strategies are introduced; Heart of Algebra,
Passport to Advanced Math and Additional Topics will be discussed and practiced.
The students will learn the New SAT strategies and tactics in each topic,
and use these skills to solve real life applications. The different strategies on
multiple questions (with 4 options) and free response questions are specifically addressed. Strategies and
methodologies that are not mentioned in textbooks will be introduced and taught. Please click the above course tabs for details.
3. “Pre-Algebra”
This course involves the study of numbers, variables, operations, expressions,
proportions and equations. Students will learn how to solve and graph equations and inequalities.
It will also enhance students’ understanding of geometry, statistics, and graphing.
4. “Algebra 1”
This course involves identification of patterns using tables, graphs and equations.
Students will learn how to apply mathematical properties to algebraic equations through problem solving,
and will investigate linear relationships within the course. Graphing calculators will be used during the course.
5. “Algebra 2”
This course includes functions, equations and inequalities, probability and statistics,
logarithmic and exponential relationships, quadratic and polynomial equations,
and matrices. Problem solving strategies will be emphasized. Graphing calculators will be used during the course.
6. “Pre-Calculus”
This course includes polynomial, rational, and exponential functions, and conics.
Trigonometry will be taught in greater depth.
Students will be able to combine concepts from prerequisite courses and further their
knowledge in analytic geometry and calculus.
This class is important for any student planning to take Calculus or college level math.
7. “AP Calculus”
AP Calculus AB includes detailed analyzation of limits, derivatives, definite integrals,
and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Students learn problem solving graphically,
numerically, analytically, and verbally. A calculator will be required in this course.
AP Calculus BC covers all content learned in AB Calculus at a fast pace, as well as sequences and series,
differential and integral calculus, limits, derivatives, definite integrals, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus,
and series. A calculator is required in this course.
8. “AP Physics 1 and 2”
AP Physics 1 includes Newtonian mechanics (including rotational motion), work, energy,
and power, mechanical waves and sound, and introductory, simple circuits.
It will help students understand Physics through inquiry-based investigations.
The AP Physics 2 includes fluid statics and dynamics, thermodynamics with kinetic theory,
PV diagrams and probability, electrostatics, electrical circuits with capacitors, magnetic fields,
electromagnetism, physical and geometric optics, and quantum, atomic,
and nuclear physics. It will help students understand Physics through inquiry-based investigations.
9. “AP Economics”
AP Microeconomics includes the principles of economics that apply to the functions of individual
economic decision-makers. It covers the operation of product and factor markets,
distributions of income, market failure, and the role of government in promoting greater efficiency
and equity in the economy. The graphs, charts, and data will be introduced to analyze,
describe, and explain economic concepts.
AP Macroeconomics includes the principles that apply to an economic system.
It emphasizes the national income and price-level determination; it also covers economic
performance measures, the financial sector, stabilization policies, economic growth,
and international economics. Graphs, charts, and data will be introduced to analyze, describe,
and explain economic concepts.
10. “AP Chemistry”
This course includes atomic structure, intermolecular forces and bonding, chemical reactions, kinetics, thermodynamics,
and equilibrium. It will help students understand chemistry through inquiry-based investigations.
11. “AP Biology”
This course includes evolution, cellular processes — energy and communication, genetics, information transfer, ecology,
and interactions. It will help students understand biology through inquiry-based investigations.
12. “AP Computer Science A”
This course includes problem solving, design strategies and methodologies,
organization of data (data structures), approaches to processing data (algorithms), analysis of potential solutions,
and the ethical and social implications of computing. It covers both object-oriented and imperative problem solving
and design using Java language.
Real time applications will be introduced and practiced to help students learn from simple problems to complex problems.
13. “AP English Literature and Composition”
This course includes the close reading and critical analysis of imaginative literature
to deepen their understanding of the ways writers use language to provide both meaning and pleasure.
A work’s structure, style, and themes, as well as its use of figurative language, imagery, symbolism, and tone will be emphasized.
Writing assignments include expository, analytical, and argumentative essays are addressed.
14. “AP U.S. History”
This course includes the investigation of significant events, individuals, developments,
and processes in nine historical periods from approximately 1491 to the present.
Students develop and use the same skills, practices, and methods employed by historians.
The course also provides seven themes that students
explore throughout the course in order to make connections among historical developments in different times and places.
15. “AP European History”
This course gives students the opportunity to investigate significant events, individuals,
developments, and processes in four historical periods from approximately 1450 to the present.
Students develop and use the same skills, practices, and methods employed by historians: analyzing primary and secondary sources;
developing historical arguments; making historical comparisons; and utilizing reasoning about contextualization,
causation, and continuity and change over time.
Students will be able to make thematic connections between historical developments in different times and places.
16. “AP United States Government and Politics”
This course introduces a nonpartisan view of key political concepts, ideas, institutions,
policies, interactions, roles, and behaviors that characterize the constitutional system and political
culture of the United States. Students will study U.S. foundational documents,
Supreme Court decisions, and other texts and visuals to gain an understanding of the relationships
